Type Locality and Naming

Along the Turasai, upper course of the Angren River. L.D. Anpleeva, A.A. Bukharina, V.F. Trinin, 1977 (Koloyarov, 1977). In the stratotype on the right bank of the Turasai River.

Synonym: Turasai Suite, Турасайская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Large pebble conglomerates with boulders, weakly cemented, light yellow-gray, occasionally sandstones with gravel, pebbles. Thickness 101m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Lies on the Kandyrsay Fm with a gradual transition

Upper contact

It is overlain by younger Quaternary formations. The schematic stratigraphic column indicates Kumyshkan Fm

Regional extent

Angren Plateau, Angren Depression, Chatkal-Kuramin region, middle course of the Aksakaty River.
